From all of us here at the Oregon Brewers Festival, we wish to thank the more than 60,500 people who took part in the 2007 festival, and graciously acknowledge the volunteers, breweries, vendors and sponsors who made the event such a great success. It is with great anticipation that we raise our mug in a toast to the 21st annual upcoming Oregon Brewers Festival in 2008.

Cheers,

King Gambrinus,
"The Patron Saint of Beer"

Beneficiary:
The Oregon Commission for the Blind Foundation. For more than 50 years, the OCB has been a resource for visually impaired Oregonians, as well as their families, friends, and employers. Its vision is to assist blind Oregonians in making informed choices and decisions to achieve full inclusion and integration in society through employment, independent living, and social self–sufficiency.
Summary:

There are three segments to this event. First, the Blind Tasting, in which 12 Oregon Pale Ales, and then 12 Oregon IPAs, will be served in two-ounce samples on a tasting tray. Patrons will be asked to vote for the “People’s Choice”: one vote for each of the two styles. Following the tabulation, the winning brewery announced from each of the two categories will receive a trip* to Munich’s Oktoberfest for the brewer and a guest.

The second portion is the Blind Test, in which patrons will be asked to identify each of the beers served, per style. Votes will be tabulated, and the name of the person correctly identifying the most number of beers from each category will win a trip* to Munich’s Oktoberfest for themselves and a guest (a total of two trips* for the test portion). If more than one person correctly names the beers, there will be a drawing to determine the winner.

At the conclusion of voting, all 24 beer taps will be opened and the attendees will be invited to sample beer until the taps close at 9 p.m.
