12th Annual Sasquatch BrewAm Golf Tournament

The 12th annual Sasquatch BrewAm Golf Tournament will take place Friday, July 29, 2016. While not an official OBF event, many of our participating brewers take part, and it is all for a great cause. Brewers, beer fans and duffers alike are invited to play a round at the McMenamins Edgefield Pub Course.

Pair up with celebrity brewers for a round of golf at one of the coolest courses in the area. Enjoy a beautiful Oregon morning as you share beers and golfing camaraderie with numerous craft beer luminaries.

Admission includes golf and a picnic lunch at the beautiful McMenamins Edgefield, plus prizes, games, goodies, and classy apparel for all! All proceeds support the Glen Hay Falconer Foundation brewing scholarship program, which sends brewers from the Pacific Northwest to the Siebel Institute and the American Brewers Guild to further their knowledge and the craft.

Sign up at Glen Falconer Foundation.

OBF to donate $15K to New Avenues for Youth

New Avenues for Youth takes a complete approach to addressing youth homelessness and its root causes, delivering support and resources that enable foster, at-risk, and homeless youth aged 14-24 to overcome their barriers and realize their potential. Through direct service, community partnership, advocacy, and data-driven evaluation, it helps youth exit street life and prevent those at risk of homelessness from experiencing it. The Oregon Brewers Festival is proud to make the organization this year's non-profit partner, and will donate $15,000 at the opening ceremonies on July 27. Learn more about the worthy organization at New Avenues for Youth.

No Smoking in Portland Parks

The Portland City Council passed a total smoking ban in city parks in 2015, so smoking is NOT allowed at the Oregon Brewers Festival. This includes both tobacco and marijuana. If you need help with quitting, please visit QuitDay.org which works to reduce the number of people who smoke when they drink; the Quit Smoking Community; and the American Cancer Society, which supports a tobacco-free lifestyle.
